Although It seems I have always had a box of crayons in my back pocket, my life as an artist started with the extra time I gained with my retirement years. Ten years ago I moved from Illinois to Arizona and walked into an art community exploding with creativity. This atmosphere reignited my drive to draw and paint. Color and movement stir a response in me to create art. The swirling folds of a dancer’s red skirt or the billowing flap of a golden cloak urge me to reproduce those effects. I work in colored pencil, watercolor, and pastels. Creating art fulfills my need for peace and contentment.
“Creativity is the greatest expression of liberty.”
